Did you know that axe throwing has become an Olympic sport? Who knew.

I visited Ozarks Sportsman the other day and the process of signing in was so easy, I didn’t even have an appointment.  I showed up and let the staff know I was a walk-in who’d never been there before. They handed me a laptop and I entered my  name, birthdate, phone number, address, emergency contact and I electronically signed a waiver. I then paid my $20.99 and then James, the store manager, and Krista led me over to the axe throwing lanes where I was pleased to receive a private lesson on proper axe throwing technique.  The waiver is also available at their website if you wish to expedite the process.

In addition to axe throwing they also offer knife throwing,  an archery area, an indoor shooting range and a golf simulator. They offer a variety of classes like concealed carry and firearm safety among other safety related classes. What I like most about Ozark Sportsman is it’s not a franchise so when you patronize them you’re supporting a small business, and a pretty unique one at that. The store carries a variety of clothing for a variety of outdoor adventures in addition to fishing kayaks, rods and reels, bows and all kinds of useful items like knives. Additionally they offer the largest firearm safe selection in Northwest Arkansas.

Their walk-in rate is  $20.99 an hour for either the shooting range, axe throwing, archery or the golf simulator but you don’t have access to some of the other amenities available there like pingpong, shuffleboard and darts.

There are two memberships available: A single person for $29.99 a month and a family membership for $50.00 a month. If you pay the year upfront, you can save 2 months. Both memberships include unlimited sportsman use of the gun and rifle range, axe throwing, archery range or golf simulator along with 5% off everything in their store including guns and ammo; up to 6 guest passes a year depending on which membership you get, one free firearm cleaning per year among other features. Both memberships also grant you access to other amenities like darts, shuffleboard and pingpong.

Right now they’re offering a 0 initiation fee for the month of Jan 2023. Both memberships also afford you with rental opportunities for groups which I don’t know about you, but how fun to invite your friends for an ax throwing party?
